Bookmark and ShareAt 3:30PM on Monday, November 8, 2010, at the Hotel Raffaello in Modena, Italy, the course for Sommelier First Level organized by the Modena chapter of the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (Italian Association of Sommeliers, or AIS), begins under the leadership of Delegate, Luigi Carnevali and Vice-Delegate, Fabio Grazia.

IMPORTANT: Please specify first and last name of participant, as well as the preferred session (afternoon or evening.) Subscription will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Should the course be overbooked, excluded participants will be refunded the entire downpayment.

The course will introduce deeper knowledge of the fascinating wine world, offering a unique opportunity to discover and recognize the secret characteristics of wine with professionalism, culture and fun. Students who take the course to start a profession as well as those who take it to follow their passion, will have the chance to have an extraordinary experience which will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

The course consists of 16 meetings of 21/2 hours each, during which AIS trainers will lead participants first in a 1-hour theoretic lesson followed by as wine tasting. The course includes a guided visit to an operating winery as well.

In addition to the 3:30-6PM session, the course will be repeated in the evening from 8:30 to 11PM.

The participation fee is €480, and includes a briefcase containing four tasting glasses, the AIS training books, a notebook with official sensorial note cards, as well as other accessories. In addition, participants must pay the yearly AIS association fee of €80, for a total of €560. The amount must be paid in full by October 30, 2010 and an official receipt will be given when the course starts.

The yearly association to the Associazione Nazionale Sommeliers includes the yearly subscription to the official AIS magazine, 'De Vinis' , as well as the 2012 issue of the association official wine guide entitled 'Duemilavini'.
