The festival is dedicated to Georgia wine estates, as well as international wine producers. In addition to wine testing, the festival will feature a business-forum which will bring together producers, importers, exporters, wine experts, professional buyers, and sommeliers.
At the fair, foreign buyers will have the opportunity to become familiar with Georgia's wine producing history and current wine production, while foreign wine estates will have the opportunity to introduce their products to international buyers as well as into the local market.
Guests from 85 countries have been invited to participate in the Georgia World Wine Festival Fair 2010, which is being organized with the support of the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The festival will feature live music concerts, an exhibition entitled 'Wine and Art', and will wind up with the wine tour of Kakheti region.
The goal of the event is to introduce Georgia wine companies to the international wine scene, while introducing foreign producers to the local market. Future developments include the implementation of joint projects between Georgian and foreign companies, promotion of foreign wines to the Trans-Caucasian market, permanent exhibition and tasting center for foreign and Georgian wines in Tbilisi, promotion of the concept of wine tourism, generate investments for the wine and tourist sectors, establish and develop new market strategies.
