On May 25, 2010, on page 11 of the Italian daily Gazzetta di Modena (Modena Gazette), in the AGRICOLTURA (AGRICULTURE) section, the following article was published. Journalist, Miria Burani, focused on the participation of Italian producers from Modena on the twelfth Italian Flavor Forum, organized in San Francisco, California, by WineCountry.IT, LLC.
Modenese products will showcase on Thursday, May 27, in San Francisco, at the Museo Italo Americano (Italian American Museum), inside the Fort Mason Center, at 99 Marina Boulevard, on the occasion of the Italian Flavor Forum XII, the exclusive Italian wine and food products tasting event dedicated to US buyers, importers, wholesalers, journalists, gourmands and wine collectors. The initiative is organized by WineCountry.IT and its president, Loris Scagliarini, a Modenese native who moved to California years ago. Among the producers presented to the 12th Italian Flavor Forum there will also be of two Modenese estates: Azienda Agricola Garuti from Sorbara, which offers (sparkling red) Lambrusco, (lightly sparkling white dessert wine) Trebbiano, balsamic vinegar and condiment, as well as wine and balsamic vinegar jelly, and Azienda Agricola Fabio Rota with its (red wine) Lancellotta.

"The event is dedicated to US importers and wholesalers, merchants, buyers for restaurants, wine bars and specialized stores, as well as wine collectors and wine and food journalists," said Loris Scagliarini, president of the Italian Flavor Consortium. "The goal is to make it easier for importers, distributors, re-sellers, restauranteurs, wine bar managers and the US trade press to taste, choose, order and distribute quality Italian wines and food products, which are rare and hard to find in the States because they are produced by small and medium estates. Our agents are Italians and Americans who live in Italy who know the small and medium producers personally and are able to assess the uncompromising quality of their products before we add them to the portfolio (presented at the Italian Flavor Forum. The way to win in the competition with wine producing countries such as Australia, Chile and Argentina, is to focus on the quality and uniqueness of many Italian products, as well as dependable distribution."
The Italian Flavor Forum will take place concorrently with a photo exhibition entitled 'Immaginario Barocco - Fotografie di Giuseppe Leone' (Imaginative Baroque - Photographs by Giuseppe Leone), co-sponsored by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura (Italian Cultural Institute). In all, Loris Scagliarini will propose about 70 Italian quality products new to the US market, as well as returning favotirtes.
