Kansas Governor, Kathleen Sebelius, signed a bill allowing Kansans of drinking age to order up to 12 cases of wine per year, and have them shipped directly to their homes.
Many states allow the practice, which has led to the popularity of online wine stores and numerous wine clubs. Until now though, Kansas was leery of uncorking a law which some lawmakers feared could lead to underage alcohol consumption.

Kansas

A few years back the state passed a curious law which allowed consumers to order wine from out-of-state wineries and merchants and have it shipped directly to... their favorite liquor store.
This time around several Kansas lawmakers argued that few underage would order expensive California wines and risk having their parents intercept the shipment.
The bill signed on Tuesday, April 20, 2009 by Sebelius allows local wine producers to sell their vintages at farmer's markets, so long as the market has been approved by the state's alcohol control officials.
A pleasant provision of the new law also allows restaurants to store unfinished bottles of wine for their customers.
