The 2009 Borsa Vini takes place this year on Tuesday, October 6, at the Hilton Hotel in Charlemont Place, Dublin. Organized by the Italian Trade Commission, this Italian Wine Fair will allow trade and press the opportunity to taste a comprehensive range of Italian wines at a tasting running from 11 AM until 6 PM.

This one-day tasting offers the chance to discover a wide range of new wines from over 40 different producers and encompasses 14 regions of Italy.
In these times of increasing specialization for the off-trade, it’s worth noting that a number of the producers are new to this country and will be seeking representation, while others already export here. The wines featured at the tasting come from various regions of Italy, including Abruzzo, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Latium, Lombardy, Marche, Piedmont, Apulia, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto.
Winemakers and winery owners will be flying over for the tasting, and visitors will have the opportunity to chat with them and get the latest news first-hand from Italian wine producers.
The enormous success of wine styles made from Pinot Grigio and Prosecco grapes have created awareness of Italian wine in general among Irish consumers. In 2008, sales of Italian wines in Ireland continued to increase their market share, reaching 438,000 cases, or 5.5% of the Irish wine market.
