- Lambrusco, or The 'Emilian Paradox'

In 1999 the Consortium of Lambrusco from Modena and Reggio Emilia, and the Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna (Emilia Romagna Regional Wine Bar) decided to commission an anonymous detailed analysis of components with possible vascular-protective characteristics in four Lambrusco samples.
The research was organized by Professor Carlo Fernandez and was awarded to the Istituto Mario Negri Sud, the world renowned center for pharmacological and biomedical research.

Vinitaly China 2006, held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center from November 23, to 25, 2006, opened with a ceremony, in the presence of the Italian Minister of Agriculture, Paolo De Castro, the chief representative of Italian Trade Committee in Shanghai, the deputy mayor of Shanghai, the leader of the Council for the Promotion Of International Trade Shanghai (CPIT SH), various Italian wine exhibitors, representative of the Chinese and international wine industry media, and professional buyers.

- Josko Gravner's Georgian Amphorae

Georgian amphorae with a capacity of about 2,500 liters (around 660 gallons), lay in the yard of the Gravner estate. They will be buried in the cantina (winery), then filled with new wine, which will be left to ripen as it used to be done thousands of years ago, when ancient Greeks and Romans were the winemakers.

- DUEMILAVINI 2007: Awarded the Cinque Grappoli (Five Bunches)

Here we provide, region by region, the Italian wines which were awarded the Cinque Grappoli (Five Bunches) from the jury of professional sommeliers who, all together, tasted over 15,000 wines. They first selected about 800 finalists, then assigned the Cinque Grappoli to 295 wines, produced by 265 different estates. The result is DUEMILAVINI 2007 Italian Wine Guide, presented to the press on November 3, 2006.

In addition to myself, Marco Bergaglio, owner and winemaker of Castellari Bergaglio Winery, who introduced the wines, WineCountry.IT broker Michelle Keene and Christian Lepori, owner of SaporItalia and WineCountry.IT' Italian chief of marketing, attended the presentation.
